Scaldaferro has been making traditional Italian Nougat since 1919. This chewy, pillowy bar of nougat is reminiscent of a marshmallow that has been sweetened with honey and studded with incredible Sicilian almonds. But, like all the Nougat we have tried from Scaldaferro, rather than sugar - you taste the ingredients, the flavor of the honey, the almonds, the egg white. It is truly exceptional!
Made with natural ingredients selected with great care: a blend of virgin wholemeal honeys, caster sugar, Italian almonds of medium-large size. The dough for the soft nougat (sticks and nougat nougat) is made in an artisan way: the mixture extracted from the ancient copper pots, where it bakes in a bain-marie for at least five hours, is spatulated by hand on a bed of gluten-free wafers.
